1. This year, for the first time in its 27-year history, the Lewis is Clark Summer Institute will offer its exciting, hands-on enrichment classes in two different locations: one in City of St. Louis and one in Webster Groves.
    • Saint Louis University will be the site of the St. Louis City component of LCSI ’10.  It will be held at Beracha Hall on the SLU campus.  Beracha Hall is near Spring and Laclede down the street from Humphrey’s Restaurant and Bar.
    • Annunciation School in Webster Groves will be the site of the County component of LCSI ’10.   Annunciation School is located at 16 West Glendale Road in Webster.  It’s one block south Highway 44 and Elm.
    • There are no attendance boundaries governing the Lewis & Clark Summer Institute’s locations.  Kids from the City can attend the program in either location, and kids from the County can attend the program in either location.
    • Curricula for both programs will be virtually identical (with a couple of minor variations). An example of a minor variation is this.  “Cooking with Class” will be offered at Annunciation only because Annunication has a terrific kitchen on-site.  There are no kitchen facilities in Beracha Hall nor are there any kitchen facilities within a short walking distance.
  2. The dates of the programs are different by one week:
    • Session One of the Saint Louis University program runs from June 14 to July 2;
    • Session Two of the Saint Louis University program runs from July 5 to July 23.
    • Session One of the Annunciation program runs from June 21 to July 9;
    • Session Two of the Annunciation program runs from July 12 to July 30.
  3. Tuition for one three-week session is $525.  Tuition for both sessions (i.e., all six weeks) is still $875.  There are multiple-child discounts available.  A child’s registration must be accompanied by a non-refundable $50 deposit that will be applied to tuition.  Tuition balance is due by May 15 for kids in Session One and by June 15 for kids in Session Two.
  4. Before-school childcare is available each day from 7:30 a.m. on at no cost.  After-school childcare is available from 3:00 until 5:30.  The cost for 2010 has been lowered.  The 2010 cost is $50 per week.  Please reserve your child’s place in after-care by June 1.
  5. Classes are very small (usually 14-16) and thus applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  6. Car-pooling lists will be made available, upon request, beginning in May.
  7. There is a 30-minute lunch break every day in an air conditioned space.  Children bring their own lunches.
  8. Final class schedules (for Session One kids) and other important information will be mailed during the week of June 7th for kids in the SLU program and June 14 for kids in the Annunciation program.  For those in Session Two, June 28 is the distribution date for SLU kids and July 5 for Annunciation kids.
  9. Pre-session, get-acquainted tours will be available to parents and students the week before the sessions begin.
  10. LCI’s administrative offices are located at 1750 S. Brentwood Blvd. at Hwy 40.  (In the Jos. White Building right across the street from Whole Foods, REI, Pier 1, etc).
